Research
The Department of Battery-Smart Factory of Korea University conducts research on the development and synthesis of new battery materials based on artificial intelligence. We would like to manufacture a battery with higher energy density and long life through research on improving the performance by developing or modifying a new cathode and anode active material for lithium-ion batteries and reinforcing a separator and designing an optimal electrolyte.
To develop the next-generation battery with high energy density beyond the limits of commercial lithium-ion batteries, we are conducting research on the post-lithium-ion battery, such as lithium-sulfur battery, solid state battery, sodium-ion battery, etc. To overcome the limitations of next-generation battery system with much higher energy density than graphite but lacking stability and cyclability, we conduct research on suppressing lithium dendrite formation, developing electrode structure, and developing separator to apply lithium metal anode stably. It also conducts research on the development of solid electrolytes and sodium ion batteries for solid state batteries with ultimate safety.
